Important concert dates & Attire

TECH REHEARSAL: Monday, December 9th, 5-6:30pm PCPA. Come through artists entrance – where the ramp is. 

CONCERT:  TUESDAY, December 10th, 7:00PM, singer call time is 6:30 (yearbook pictures before the concert)

TICKETS:  $9 and $13 available online and at the door. Twin peaks sings with Poway High School Chorus, so the concert will be around two hours. Students will be released at the end of the entire concert. 

Remember that all rehearsals and performances are MANDATORY FOR ALL SINGERS.

Donation Basket

Hello Chorus Families,

I am putting together our donation basket to be sold at the chorus concert on December 10th. I am collecting donations to put into the basket. Donations can be gift cards or cash/venmo that I will use to purchase gift cards. Any gift cards in any denomination will be greatly appreciated. I can pick up any donations at chorus on Thursdays, you can mail them to me, or venmo ( @Leslie-Majchrzak ) me if you don’t have time to get a gift card.

I am also looking for two volunteers to help at the concert to keep an eye on the kids and making sure they are were they are suppose to be and you will be able to see the performance for FREE! Please email me to volunteer.

I would like to use the app Remind to send messages to you. It will send a short text message reminder. If you respond – it is NOT a group text – so it will not be seen by everyone – nor will you keep getting texts as in a group text application. Please follow this link to subscribe to these texts. In addition, we would like to ask for a donation of $25 (or more if you can) from each student who is able, to help cover the costs of the polo shirts, music and other expenses for the choir. Poway High School Choral Boosters has given us a small budget, and they will be handling our finances. You can send a check in with your child made out to PHS choral boosters, or you can pay via Pay Pal with this link. Please make sure to add TPMS Choir in the note section when you pay. I have some very fun songs in mind for this year, but buying copies for all the kids can get expensive! Please donate if you can!

Choir Time Change

Hello, everyone! It was a joy to see the students this past week! They are terrific kids!
Due to the smaller than expected turnout, I am going to put them back as one choir as they used to be a couple of years ago. I think it will be best for the choir to meet as one group on Thursdays during late start from 7:45 – 9:05 am. That may allow for some older students who were not able to meet after school to join us as well. Also, we need to be a large enough group to be seen and heard in the PCPA. I hope this change will result in a net gain of students and that it won’t cause anyone any inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Welcome Back to Choir!

It’s a new year with a new schedule! The 7th and 8th graders will rehearse after school on Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:45. The 6th grade choir will remain on Thursdays before school from 7:45 to 9:05.  I am looking forward to seeing all of you, old faces and new, and learning our new music together.  Please stop by the choir table at registration to sign up and get some paperwork. You will need to register for ASES to be in choir. There is no charge for ASES. Please make sure you are on my email list by signing up at registration or by emailing me. I prefer to have a parent’s email address.

I will be returning from a trip on August 14, but I will be at registration on the 15th. Are there any parents who are willing to sit at the choir table during registration on the 14th? If so, here is the SlyReply:    Please sign up to register students for choir. This choir is a group volunteer project. I couldn’t do it without you!

Friday May 24 Regular rehearsal
Tuesday May 28 Rehearsal after school at PHS PCPA 3:30 to 5:00 (Pick up outside green room)
Wednesday May 29  Rehearsal after school at PHS PCPA 3:30 to 5:00   (Pick up outside green room)
Thursday May 30 Call 6:00 PM, Show 7:00 PM  (Drop off at Artists’ Entrance, Pick up outside green room)
Friday May 31 Call 6:00 PM, Show 7:00 PM  (Drop off at Artists’ Entrance, Pick up outside green room)
If any parents are able to drive from Twin Peaks to Poway High next Tuesday and Wednesday, please let me know. I know of two students who need rides.
Concert Attire: We will have cowboy hats with red bandanas. Please wear jeans and your show t-shirts, and boots if you can find a pair. Jeans can be ripped, but not too much and not too high on the legs. Do not cut the show t-shirts. Wear them as they are for the shows, please!

We have been asked to provide two gift card baskets, one for each night, to be raffled off at the concerts. I would appreciate any gifts cards that you could send in to raise money for the choir. Bring money to the concerts too because there will be some very nice prizes that you might win if you buy raffle tickets, and there will be fun gifts to buy for the singers as well.
Thank you for all that you have done to support the choir this year! I have enjoyed working with your kids. They are terrific!
