Heidi Bartholomeusz, has graciously offered to take over the Twin Peaks Choir! She teaches the choir at Tierra Bonita, so many of the students will already know her. I will be handing the reins over to Mrs. Bartholomeusz this Thursday at rehearsal. Please give her a warm welcome!
Hello, everyone! It was a joy to see the students this past week! They are terrific kids!
Due to the smaller than expected turnout, I am going to put them back as one choir as they used to be a couple of years ago. I think it will be best for the choir to meet as one group on Thursdays during late start from 7:45 – 9:05 am. That may allow for some older students who were not able to meet after school to join us as well. Also, we need to be a large enough group to be seen and heard in the PCPA. I hope this change will result in a net gain of students and that it won’t cause anyone any inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
It’s a new year with a new schedule! The 7th and 8th graders will rehearse after school on Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:45. The 6th grade choir will remain on Thursdays before school from 7:45 to 9:05. I am looking forward to seeing all of you, old faces and new, and learning our new music together. Please stop by the choir table at registration to sign up and get some paperwork. You will need to register for ASES to be in choir. There is no charge for ASES. Please make sure you are on my email list by signing up at registration or by emailing me. I prefer to have a parent’s email address.
I will be returning from a trip on August 14, but I will be at registration on the 15th. Are there any parents who are willing to sit at the choir table during registration on the 14th? If any parents are able to drive from Twin Peaks to Poway High next Tuesday and Wednesday, please let me know. I know of two students who need rides.
Concert Attire: We will have cowboy hats with red bandanas. Please wear jeans and your show t-shirts, and boots if you can find a pair. Jeans can be ripped, but not too much and not too high on the legs. Do not cut the show t-shirts. Wear them as they are for the shows, please!

We have been asked to provide two gift card baskets, one for each night, to be raffled off at the concerts. I would appreciate any gifts cards that you could send in to raise money for the choir. Bring money to the concerts too because there will be some very nice prizes that you might win if you buy raffle tickets, and there will be fun gifts to buy for the singers as well.

Twin Peaks Middle School Choir
Please come sing “I Lift My Voice” tonight at the vigil at the Poway High School football stadium. Wear your choir shirt and come if you know the song, even if you have dropped out of choir. The program starts at 6:30 PM, and we will sing near the end around 7:15. There will be seats reserved for us. Look for me in my TPMS Choir polo shirt. We are POWAY STRONG!
Wear your shirt to school tomorrow (Tuesday 4/30/19) because we will sing the same song in the quad at both lunches.
Our Spring Concert for the 6th grade choir is this Thursday April 25. We will have our regular rehearsal in the morning. Then we will meet at 6:00 PM to practice, and give the concert at 7:00 PM. This concert will be in the Twin Peaks Theater. We will wear our concert attire: choir polo, black pants, black socks, black shoes. See you Thursday!
Festival Concert: Tuesday March 19, 2019 (PCPA) Call time: Come between 5:00 and 5:15 to the Artists Entrance. Performance at 7:00.
Concert attire: Choir polo shirt, black pants (long), black socks, and all black, closed-toed shoes.
This will be a special concert on which the Poway choirs will present music they have prepared for adjudication. The pieces are often more challenging than the pieces on the other concerts. Our choirs will also be presenting some songs through we we have experienced growth in terms of pitch, rhythm, and language. The students are excited to show off their new music!
Because of the long performance day, there will be no choir rehearsal on Tuesday morning March 19.
Thank you students for your wonderful performance last night! And thank you parents for supporting the choir. We couldn’t do it without you! I have heard several positive comments about the performance already. One in particular noted your good tone quality which is our highest goal. Congratulations!
The Winter concert will be on Tuesday December 11 with a call time of 5:45 pm and performance at 7PM. The Twin Peaks students will be sitting back stage except during their performances. They will sing toward the beginning and again with all choirs at the end of the evening. Dress in concert attire, please, including black socks. (Choir polo shirt, black pants, black socks, black closed-toed Shoes.)
