All-District Festival and Concert Recap

We could not be prouder of how well our choir performed at both the All-District Festival and the Festival Concert at PCPA!

All-District Festival gave us the chance to hear many choirs from all across the Poway School District, and to sing together with them in a mass choir for a piece called “Indodana.” It wasn’t easy – we were second to last to perform, and by that time everyone was hungry, thirsty, tired, and more than a little overwhelmed. After watching the TOP choirs from the other schools (we only have our one choir, so we’re automatically at the top!), both middle- and high school levels, we were a bit anxious as well. But we got up there and sang our best and impressed them all! The comments we received from the adjudicators were positive and informative. It was very nice to confirm what we already knew, and I quote one of the judges here, “You are a FINE choir!”

We had four rehearsals after the festival to polish our 2 pieces – and, just because we could, add 2 more – before the Festival Concert at PCPA. Once again, we came, we sang, we left a very positive impression on the audience! We received many compliments on our sound, our appearance, our choices of music, and how much fun it looked like we were having! It was a great evening of music and we are so glad to have been a part of it.

Thank you, choir members, for all the hard work you put in to learning these pieces of music and turning them into beautiful expressions of song. Thank you, parents, for the support!

Next up are the Spring Concerts in May. PHS has selected the theme of “Disney Forever” for the big production, and we are already hard at work on our pieces. Please check our calendar page for dates and more information about the upcoming performances!
